Herbicide to Kill Pine Seedlings?? - 07/18/19 09:31 PM

I need a little advice guys.
I've read that Glyphosphate will kill pine seedlings but it hasn't worked for me. It killed everything else, but the pines are still going strong.
Do I need to mix it stronger? or include some other herbicide in the tank with the Gly?
Thanks

Someone can correct me if im wrong but i believe imazapyr will do it mixed with gly. Crossbow killed small pines for me and it has imazapyr in it.

Triclopyr not imazpyr*

Spot spraying? Wack a spot on them with a knife, machette, hatchet along the trunk and spray with a 6oz/gallon mix. Eraser will kill them as will Crossbow. Can you bushhog them? They won't come back if clipped with a bushhog.

Glyphosate and crossbow should do it.

But there is no imazapyr in crossbow.

I don't think imazapyr is what you are looking for to kill pines. That's what is used to kill everything else but pines. Whatever you spray be sure and use plenty of surfactant if you are planning to kill the pines.

So educate me here, imazapyr won't kill small pines but damn near everything else? We had a part of our land clear cut last year, About a month back, we sprayed a lane we wanted to keep with RM43 which has imazapyr and gly. I assume the gly would get it if the imazapyr won't?

Imazapyr kills broadleaf, not pines.

Last weekend I sprayed gly and remedy ultra. I need to kill sweet gums and small pines hope it works. I’ve used crossbow before I know it works but I heard remedy was much better and it’s a little cheaper
