Let's see if this works.---

0% chance that works. Those deer farms are worth many millions. And so are the owners. Never gonna happen. I’m not saying it should or shouldn’t, just won’t.

I just can't figure out if you kill/shoot all the deer, have you saved the species?

I’ve asked the same question also?? How will killing all deer save them?
What little I know of cwd it can stay in soil for years and years.

killing all the deer won't do a damn thing to stop CWD. The prions stay in the soil for years and can infect any healthy deer.

From what I understand, prions are not the problem, rather the symptom. The cause of CWD was determined to be bacterial and causes the folded proteins (prion) found in all CWD deer.

That was the latest I read out of LSU

Also, ole Dr. Frank Bastian is no longer associated with LSU. The separation happened shortly after that whole 'press conference' production. He purports to have resigned on his own terms. grin Make of that what you will.

In any event, he longer has access to a lab to continue his mad experiments.

Thanks for the info! Makes sense now that it wasn't bigger news.

I'm all for research and legit findings. If Bastian's work is legit, good. Let's see it. If it's hocus-pocus and he's the only person in the world who can replicate his findings, I'm skeptical. But until something comes out as legit bonfide "this works" then I'll keep reading and listening.

He supposedly parted with LSU in part due to a patent disagreement. That's potentially huge money. Also not a new thing within academia and researchers. So we'll see how that pans out and where he lands next, and who will be paying his bills.

Ran across this. Also interesting:

The Yale professor has tenure and will be harder to "separate". I think I posted a couple of papers from her a month or so ago.
