Depends on where you are. Rutting strong in some areas and just getting started in others.

East side of Clarke. Currently watching two 2.5 year old 8 pts and about a dozen does. No sign of rut activity. Saw 3 bucks together last weekend.

Did see a small buck standing beside Hwy 84 at 11 a.m. so they're moving some

Correction, on of the 8 pts is a 3.5 with about 7"G2's. But would still not break 120. Just hit a licking branch and has dark tarsal stains. Still waiting...

Ive hunted in Clarke since 2000ish. The Rut is from now until Feb 10th.

The rest is timing and luck.

Spikes chasing at my place and very few scrapes. Still a couple weeks out. Saw several good bucks lately running single.

Had mature bucks show up on camera last Sunday (daylight). Now is a good time to be in the woods.

I think it’s hit or miss. I killed a big seven point last week there In Bladon Springs and he was working a scrape line. The young bucks I saw this weekend were eating grass with the does. Seems like it’s always really good the last weekend of season for us at that lease. We have one more lease an hr north of there and it was good there about the first to middle of Jan. For the most part the rut might be happening but you might not be seeing it.

I haven't even seen much sign in coffeeville yet as of last weekend. Hopefully this cold snap will get them moving. Going uo this weekend and can update on Monday.

I use to travel that old river rd pretty often between chatom and cville. Dam it needs some new asphalt.

that ain’t no lie. Crazy how the deer further south are already chasing and rutting and the ones up around Bladon Springs won’t do nothing until the last week of February
