So Chuck was on the radio yesterday talking black painters. Chuck says they are legal to kill and there is no bag limit along with a 365 day season. He says quote y’all stack ‘em up and bring us some to show. So there you go boys let’s stack the ol black painters up.

The panther discussion never gets old. So many stories of "my fren had a picture, but he lost it", or "I've seent em tons of times, just never did tell anyone".
Not a single game cam picture either, out of the 5 million hanging on trees in the state. Great fun.

Yes he said it's open season on all black "panthers". He can say this because there has never been record of a black panther in the history of science. There are black jaguars, leopards...... but not panthers. It is NOT open season on tan/brown panthers, cougars, mountain lions, or pumas

I know someone who shot a housecat for a bobcat. It had the exact colorings of a bobcat. Except it had a 12" tail.

Knowing this guy I am sure alcohol was involved.

I met a guy at Stones Taxidermy that brought in a black dog he shot for a yote. We damn near made him cry we razzed his dumb ass so badly.

I was at a taxidermy store one night when a guy brought a wolf in to have a life size done, he told us he killed it in Midfield by the quarry. Prettiest malamute I ever saw shot 13 times with a 9

I know someone who has shot a few housecats thinking they were housecats...

see a 9mm aint no good only took two 45s to for me to kill one . lol

That sounds about right.
After 13 shots with a 9mm, lucky the dog didn't get mad and turn on him.
I know of a man shot 10 times, with a 9mm, walked out the hospital next day.

Chuck's stock takes a nose dive every time he opens his mouth on a subject. He needs to figure this out and leave well enough alone.

I have read a lot of ignorant stories in regards to Chuck. This was the first time I actually heard him speak about conservation, needless to say he lived up to his reputation.

I was on a tractor in the middle of no where, radio stations very limited, so I listened to it. I look for every reason to bash his dumbass so I paid attention. This is just MY opinion. 1). He didn't start the conversation, he was asked. 2). What I heard from him left me thinking "whatever". In other words, for me, nothing good, bad or earth shattering. 3). Since half the population of Alabama has seen at least 30-40 black panthers, both hunters and non-,hunters, he just pissed all them off by basically saying they are liars. He really needs a spokesperson who can say a lot while saying nothing. He is NOT a people person.

Matt thats the rub , i won't fuss that i and my bil saw a black cougar but we did see a 100lb or better black cat in chambers county back in 78 . this thing came out of a push pile under my bil's feet . imo , it was some thing that got loose or was turned loose .

and i've learn to know ,,,,,, you never know what you might see in the woods .i believe most see what the mind wants them to see but that aint always true .

I saw a large black cat, about 150 pounds, around 1978 in Barbour county at about 25 yards away. Not saying it was a black panther, but it was definitely a large black cat.
