Be sure to report corn on neighboring private property tomorrow before the hunt starts.

Bud, we don't hunt too far from you. Last week the game wardens came on our property on four wheelers. Went around our gates and rode the entire property. Some tracks went right up to stands and shooting houses. Our neighbor told us they rode right up to him on a stand. They hit all the clubs close to us. There were two of them on wheelers. Sorry you had that experience, but it seems they are trying to find anyone right now.

I'll be out there tomorrow afternoon... til then... nobody go in my spot off mt silas church road! been bowhunting out there and i see a buck coming out every night, but it's been whackamole, he comes out somewhere different every time and if i move hes sure to pop up where i had set up the night before. gonna get him with the rifle this weekend as long as the influx of pressure tonight doesnt break the pattern, or if someone else doesnt shoot him first. is it supposed to be full rut now? hasnt been too exciting from what i've seen. more of a squirrel rut than anything

I don't think many people hunted Saturday. everyone was breaking camp. triple harmonys dad saw a big buck Saturday morning but wasn't able to get a clean shot. I'll be back next year !

yeah i think that late Jan hunt is the best time to go. I will try to make that one and the late one next Year. The only gripe I have about Barbour is I think there is too much access . more roads need to be closed . the only way you can get away from the crowd is to go where other vehicles can't go.rather than going deeper than other hunters. I hunted between the grave yard and the target range because back in the day most folks blew right past it but that wast the case this year.
I really enjoyed my hunt anyhow. It's been atleast 11 years since I've been there. I have a TON of great memories there. my dad wasn't a deer hunter but I was obsessed with deer hunting so he would drag me down there and turn me loose. that was the first trip down since my dad died . it sure took me back to the good ole days.

I use a 4 wheeler can't do the walking, when the roads are at there worst, way back in there, then I can hunt the roads.I know its hard to fill ole Dads boots.but it feels good to try.
