LFTGB 1/12/18 - 01/12/18 06:51 AM
Just got settled in before the rain started falling good. I believe the rain and temp drop will have them moving this AM or at the least one of the hogs that was here yesterday AM will show up. Time will tell.
You guys be safe out there

Got in the ground blind about 30 mins ago. Watching a 20 acre cutover that has three ridges dropping off to a creek bottom. Have 2 pretty decent bucks in here I’d like to see in person. Plan on making it all day but we will see with the deer movement how that plan works. 10 degree drop since I left my house to the stand

Saw 5 - 3 does and 2 spikes - had to leave to get some cough meds in me - this drop in temp had me started coughing again - don't reckon I'm gonna shake it - I'll be back in the stand shortly

In a ground blind watching a hayfield corner. I need a little luck. There were big running tracks where you come through the gate.
There’s a little rain, sleet and a snowflake on very now and then.

Shooting house. Wind is rattling the windows. Heater is having a hard time keeping up. I am beginning to question my intelligence.

The house I’m in is on a hill and it’s elevated about 14’. The outside walls are all tin. I’m convinced that it’s the coldest place in Alabama

I’m beginning to appreciate ground blinds more and more. I couldn’t have been out here today without it. Broke the wind and kept rain, snow, sleet off me. The wooltimate pullover and browning bibs doing their jobs too. I’m not cold and it’s 29 here.
Going to take it up a notch and bring my heater one of these days.
I’m not looking forward to getting Mr Peabody out to take a pee when I get back to truck.

I spent 3 days in a non running steel mill in Norther Indiana several years back. The highs were in the teens and I thought I was going to freeze to death. Cold Metal makes it feel colder somehow. I know exactly how you feel

At 3:30 this afternoon I scratched the itch on my ole trigger finger. He is my #1 hit list buck and a dang fine one for a south Alabama pine goat. He’s my best deer from my home state grossing 143 6/8” as an 8 pt.
I’m very very happy and truly a blessed man.

Dad killed the 3rd of 4 five year olds we have on the land this year. This guy was a home body and I never got his picture anywhere further than about 500 yards either side of the field he was killed in. He has stayed right there in about a 10 acre spot for the last 2 years.

Thanka We normally have 3-5 old deer a year on 1200 acres. We have 1 deer left this year but he stays in a place that I rarely get pics of him and truthfully don't know of he is still alive or dead. He will be the biggest one we have ever killed of he is killed
