Re: LFTT 1-6-18 - 01/06/18 06:46 AM
Me too.
Anfernee is dranking coffee, getting ready to freeze.
Only going cause AMB said today would be good.
Wife said “I can’t believe you going out in this weather.”
“I ain’t no p***y,” I said. “Unless I get a boo-boo. Then all bets are off.”
In case I freeze to death this morning leaned against my tree, I’m going to leave a note:
“Take this rifle, it kilt the bare that kilt me.”

I’m up and secure in my loc on. Watching over a 2 yr old cutover. Got a buck in here I wanna get my eyes on. Plenty of trail camera pics coming through. Goodi luck to everyone out there today. Beautiful morning here in walker co.
I'm gonna try it I usually don't see much when frost is on the ground
I'm watching a south Mississippi WMA road in my turkey lounger. Had one trot off as I was setting up.
Conecuh county. Watching a clearcut, can see a long ways! Maybe one will ease out to catch some sun here shortly! Good luck fellas!

I'm setup in Crenshaw county. I went in blind and set between field and creek. I may not be far enough down the hill but I think it will work.

First sit in a month. A little cool in TN this morning
Long story! Last hunt I walked a long way in and got all sweaty. This time I decided to pack clothes on. I got more sweaty trying to change clothes this time. While doing so I knocked my gun over. I finally get to my stand even though I got turned around thanks to my climbing rope that has reflectors on it. Then I get in my stand to realize everything has been adjusted to suit my dad. I get up and pull my gun up only to see that the rope was dropped through a tree. I get it free in time to bear blowing in the near distance. I also realize my heavy coat has busted the zipper. On the plus side I'm here hunting with my dad and God is good. I've done all of this before most people are even awake.

I moved a ground blind into some sage type growth in a 1yr old clear cut. Facing the eastern side of it. Looks great. Just had a spike come by at 50 yds. Had 1 long main beam and thats it. Funny looking at him cause he was acting like a hot shot. I know what was on his mind.

Been watching a 4,pt,6pt,3 does and a button head. I guess the feids are still to frozen because all they did is graze on brows around the edges of the feild.

Public land in South La. Pretty morning but all I've seen is a yote. Deer and very hard to come by here as the pigs have destroyed everything. Took a little break from trying to get my son his first deer. We had some close calls this week on a small piece of private land. Sure r a lot of geese moving

Great looking buck sloughfoot.
Took an hour break from the morn hunt. Had a fat doe cross the road in front of me on the way out and stop and look at me from 20 yds. Check my camera on the way to set up and had a 4 pt walk behind me an hour ago. Seems like they are moving mid-day.

Saw two deer at 3 and then had a doe come running through right at 5pm. Got her stopped with a bleat. Had another deer come trailing her 5 mins later but couldn't see it.
Got a backyard birthday doe. Needed one more doe for the freezer.
