Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/17/17 06:03 PM

Yes it was on Facebook. The guy is from Blount county. He actually killed it in Lauderdale county. Shot it 2 years ago with his bow. Killed it with a rifle yesterday. I guess since it's on Facebook I can copy and paste.

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 08:12 AM

He use to be the chef at Dream Ranch. This is a no fence, free range deer from Lauderdale county. He shot the deer with his bow a few years ago. I found the rage broadhead and 1 inch of arrow shaft when cutting the back strap out

This was not on Gerald Swindle's property. Trust me I know...he is my father in law

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 08:21 AM

Was it a neighborhood deer? Seems like I saw a pic of it bedded behind a split rail fence. Also, seems like the guy posted a couple other stud bucks this year. One hell of a season for sure. CD.

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 09:03 PM

He's the king of second chances. He shot over a stud of a deer last weekend and it came back in on Monday I believe, and he killed it. Then he gets this monster after shooting it 2 years ago with the bow and not killing it.

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 10:09 PM

The f'king mouthbreathers on FB screaming "pin deer" or "must have tags in its ears!" are astounding. Jealous idiots.

Hell of a buck.

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 10:23 PM

There's no way in hell swindle would put his reputation on the line for this.. he's got a lot more to lose than the average guy. Only because he's worked for it.

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 11:21 PM

I bet there will be a bunch of giants killed the next few years that escaped enclosures at some point in their lives. How does that effect them making the book? They were bred in a fence but then got into the wild?
Posted By: Clem

Re: Blount Co Stud - 12/18/17 11:25 PM

How would you prove that if a buck escaped and lived 2-3-4 years before being killed? And would it matter at that point?

That’s the pic I saw. I wasn’t even sure if it was the same deer. It got deleted pretty quick, so that’s why I asked. Is that the same deer?

What you don't see in that pic is the doe right beside the fence. He was locked down with her. It was a neighborhood deer. About 500 acres with 5-6 houses on it according to the guy who shot him. Another guy riding by saw him bedded with a doe near the road and snapped these pics you are seeing now.

I have no story. I saw this on Facebook. Somebody posted the picture above in the comment section of the kill thread. I screenshot the picture to compare it to the dead deer and when cd mentioned the deer lying behind a split rail fence I posted the picture.

Gotcha. That’s where I saw it too. I was just curious if it was a neighborhood deer. I bet he was on lots of radars. Kudos to the hunter. CD.
