How close will you guys set up to a county road(seldom traveled dirt road). The regs state 50 yds,but was wondering how strict the GWs might be with this.

I used to climb a power pole at my grandpa's land and shoot across the dirt r9ad. Maybe one car a week came down that road

You mean you gotta wait til they're 50 yds off the road to shoot them? News to me

I have a stand that’s 55-60 yards from the interstate. The deer walk along the interstate a lot.

Damn. It's gonna be hard to see through 50 yards of thick brush when I'm trying to shoot a deer from my truck.

i just looked up the reg looks like it carries a $1000 fine if you get caught hunting within 50 yards of any public road i always thought that only applied to paved roads good to know though. i doubt a game warden would be to big on it unless hes getting complaints or youre visible to traffic going down the road this looks more like a reg they use to screw people that get caught shooting deer off the side of the road from their vehicle more than anything. im guilty of it i guess, ive shot a deer out in our clearcut from a county road hope no body turns me in lol

We had a small field, maybe 1/2 acre, that was within 30 yards of a county road. We got more pictures and bigger bucks on that one small field than any other field for some reason. No idea why, but that little field right beside the road was a buck magnet.
