I don't mean to down grade you deer in any way but this is a good example of a fully mature deer and it's also a good example that not every deer will see 140" no matter the age.
I have never killed a deer this old and would be proud even if it was a doe!

That is my thinking too. I know they get to a point that all The biologists will say is 8.5+ because the buck doesn't have anymore teeth to wear out. He is almost at that stage so I'll say 7.5.

I'd say 7. Prime example of soil type impact on jawbones. That Mobile county, north Baldwin and south Washington sandy soil really does a number on their teeth. He's old for sure but probably not as old as some that are used to seeing jawbones from central and north AL would think at first glance. Congrats on killing him. Any buck older than 4 is a trophy and a hard deer to kill
