Who else is headed out this morning. Bite cold but bucks are chasing like crazy. Starting to see rack bucks join in the action.

Up and drinking coffee. Hope to get out there about 8. I ain't crazy enough to climb a tree before the sun comes up, too dang cold.

I'm up and headed out to look for lost deer. It's cold out there this morning. I wondering if I shouldn't have waited until a little later to start this morning. Good luck to everyone who's tough enough to get out in this. Hope you get a big 'un.

It is a balmy 19° here in BM. Wish I was out in this but not really. Ha

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm at Choccolocco WMA walking to check some food plots. The last gun hunt here was at Christmas, it's a ghost town, so I'm just seeing how the plots look so I can bow hunt during the week the rest of the season. Might not be worth a turd, but I'll have it to myself!

Sure is nice and warm on this tractor bush hogging some more corn down.

Set up on a power line in Cahaba. Lots of fresh tracks when I scouted here a week or so ago. I've seen where some say they have seen chasing and rutting activity out here but I've yet to see a scrape or rub.

Just got settled in. Thinned pines for me this morning. The rut is getting close here. Gonna sit as long as I can.

My phone is now showing 15° for my location. Glad the wind isn't blowing today. It'd be unbearable.

It is a good day to hunt from the Truck.

6:47 is sunrise, so 30 minutes before would be 6:17 to legally shoot isn't it?

As cold as it is, it would be a great day to go sit in a nice warm church and worship the most high God who blessed us all with these wonderful things we love and enjoy so much. For those of you who aren't churchgoers, I pray the Lord will be with you and bless you where ever you find yourself this morning. Th "daylight hours" was changed this year to 30 min before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset for legal shooting hours

Well dang I thought they had changed it this year but then I checked the 16-17 regulation book on outdoor Alabama and regulation 220-2-.07 still reads daylight hours so I thought maybe it didn't pass. Where can I find the new rule?

Had a young 7 point make 5 laps around me chasing two does this morning. Also had a spike and 3 point come through grunting. Haven't seen any since 9.

I'm back at it for the evening. Grabbed lunch and warmed up and ready to put the hammer down on an old bruiser.

Went early this morning was 7 degrees at daylight according to my truck sat to 10 then down for church. Haven't seen a deer from the stand since getting back from Nebraska early November but I be darn if I didn't hit a 6 point on the way home for lunch not far from my in laws in the middle of town. No damage to the vehicle other than my drink exploded on the dash when I sent my wife's mini van into a power slide so all is good. Deer looked like he broke his rear right leg down low where the wheel rolled over it. He laid down in the ditch but when I turned around he jumped up and ran like a bat out of hell.

Sat til 12:30 and saw nothing. Go figure. Guess they slept in where I was.

Well back in the tree again bow in hand. Hunted this same spot this morning and had a spike at 10 yards. Climbed down and pulled the card in my camera and had the buck I'm after in here last night @ 7. I hope he will slip through earlier this evening. Good luck fellas

I'm on a hardwood ridge. Had a spike ease thru 10 minutes ago. Glad to see them on their feet early today.

Well I am on my first hunt of the season on the edge of a field with a few scrapes on it bow in hand. A member just missed a pig so at least something is moving

Present here in Baldwin co. Sitting on the edge of a creek with food plot on the hill to my west. Beautiful day to hunt, just wish the wind was a little more consistent.

My son and I saw 10 last night. Three were 1.5 year old bucks. Hopefully the older bucks will be up and moving soon.

I think all the deer froze to death round here. I have not seen anything moving nor heard the first shot today

I keep screwing up. Ran 3 does out of one field going to the field I wanted to hunt.
I think they're going to know they're being hunted, dang it.

I killed a 3 point this am at 7....cull buck, small spike on one side and two on other (one broke or woulda been a 4pt)...sittn on green field this aft tryn to help a friend get her first nice buck! She shot her first Deer (3 pt) the other day now we are tryn to get a mountable buck!

Got my 8 year old with me. Trying to get her first. I told her it was cold but she was persistent on going.

Well there were four hunters hunting the club today and we saw a grand total of two does and a fawn oh and a pig.

Had no cell service in the woods. Dang it was QUIET!!!!

Had a spike chasing does and fawns right before dark. Does wanted nothing to do with him. Very similar experience yesterday. About to hit that lull where the does stay out of the fields because of all the harassment.

Didn't see a thing this afternoon. But I did figure out what bird was making a call I had never heard. Turns out it was a great horned owl female sqauwk. Had never heard before....

I didn't see anything else besides that spike. Oh well, the deer win again.
