Buck-Fever Conquered! First Nice Buck!

My buck-fever was finally conquered early Saturday morning 12/3/2016. I harvested my first nice buck (after many failed attempts due to my crippling Buck Fever). I caught this dude checking a scrape line, came in at 20 yards. I couldn't be happier! I know he's not a monster but I would like to get y'alls guesses on the score. I'm thinking low 100s. His spread was at 14 1/2 inches. I would have scored him but he's already at the taxidermist

That's AWESOME!!! He will always be special to you, no matter what he scores. I am not the greatest guesser, but I think you are very close. I would guess 105 +- 5 inches.

Thanks everyone, learned ALOT from reading the forums on Serious Deer Talk last year and this year. Find the acorns and scrapes before the first freeze and you find the deer!

Congrats!! It's a good feeling when you conquer it. When I first started trying to be selective,I got into a slump and missed like 3 or 4 good bucks. Finally,I was able to connect and haven't looked back since. I still get buck fever now,just getting better at managing it. Heck,I even get doe fever when I got a bow in my hand

I totally agree! Nothing like the heart pounding when you first see a doe or buck. Completely froze in my stand when a 10 point ran bye a few years ago, I missed a 7 point last year, and shot over a nice 8 with my bow during bow season. After the bow miss, I told myself if I saw another buck I was gonna have to get a grip LOL

HAHAHA I know. My dad and I were both so excited we didnt even notice his tongue on the pics until we got back to his house

Congrats on your kill brother. I've missed a few mountable bucks, in fact it took 2 misses, (we'll 1 clean miss,and the other wounded and never found it) before I finally killed a good one, bad thing about my one and only wall-hanger, I was lucky enough to be able to see him through the scope and after saying "oh Chit" I put the gun down for about 5mins and watched him, calmed down enough to make a good steady shot!! Nothing like the excitement though, and CONGRATS on the deer

This one stood facing me in a thicket for about 5 min before he gave me a shot. I honestly really thankful cause it gave me a chance to calm down and make a good shot. Love the adrenaline rush!

yeah I missed alot of nice bucks trying to teach myself how to hunt. my biggest mistake was jerking the trigger too fast. it looks like you got it sorted out now too. congradulations
