Anyone use an XStand Climber

Anyone use an XStand Climber - 10/20/16 10:33 AM

Just got an x-1 sit and climb for an insane price. I'm die-hard Summit guy, but could't turn it down. Anyone use one and have any reviews or thoughts they could share?

I bought a sit n climb back in the summer. I've climbed with it but haven't hunted out of it yet. It sits like a loc on. Not sure if it will be an all day type of stand but I think it will be great for half day hunts and long walk ins.

That's exactly what I was hoping to get out of it, something I can pack in a few miles on public without the workload of a bigger climber.

As long as you're not a real big guy, or a puss about heights, they are great. It climbs differently than a normal stand, but it's not a bad thing once you are accustomed to it. It locks in very stable when you lock the straps down. It's actually secure enough to stand on the top section. I was doing that, glassing some deer in Kentucky. Obviously it is very easy to carry. It isn't the most comfortable, but if you will buy the lumbar support to strap to the tree, it's not bad at all. I've done many 6-8 hour sits in one. Just stand up every now and then.

Good to hear, although I am 250 pounds, but I like to be up 20-25 feet.

I got the same stand you got and I LOVE IT! Super light, Super easy to set up and climb and is solid as a rock when you get it set. I've climbed every size of both hardwoods and pines and never had a problem. Doesn't matter if it's a wet hardwood, still bites very good.

Great to hear! Gonna play with it this weekend. I pack in 3-4 miles pretty often to hunt public land tracts, so hopefully it can be my huckleberry for those hunts!

I pack mine around A LOT and it's like it's not even there. It weighing 12lbs is amazing! Only little issue I have sometimes is climbing big pines with really rough bark the cables try to hang up a little. Nothing terrible by any means. Did you buy yours at Sportsmans Guide?

That's a heck of a deal. I also have the XStand Backcountry lock on combo and it's a great stand too. The stand and climbing sticks only weighs 20lbs. The seat on the lock on is better than the climber. I wish they were interchangeable, but they attach to the stand different.

Is 269 the great deal you are talking about? Midway has it for 239 no tax, free shipping.

I see the x-stand deluxe for that. Not the sit and climb. Wish I could get my hands on the sit and climb for that. Looks like a good design for a mobile bow hunter.
