Oakmulgee WMA Dec 4-5

Is anyone going to the hunt this weekend? Have they started rut / chasing or they still pre rut?

My father and I are gonna be there.

I might go the 5 and they are still a few weeks out. Normally right around Xmas or just before.

I will be there. I don't know that I will be looking for a deer cause I really want a hog.

I found a bunch of scrapes there two weeks ago. Also found some rubs while I was looking for hogs

Have to work. I believe they are having a hunt also Dec 10-12. I will make that one. Usually starts around Christmas. Killed one Dec 26 last year, saw another chasing a doe. Can anyone confirm Dec 10-12? Thanks

Thanks. Will make that hunt, hopefully. I don't think there are as many hogs as in previous years. Talked to biologist last year. I think they have trapped many.

It's coveted up in rubs and scrapes. The two bucks I killed on the forest last week we're checking scrapes. There tarsal glands were black and stinking

Was told on opening day of bow season they had trapped around 130 hogs so far, I've only seen 1 big boar This season. I've hunted about 25 days on the WMA.
