Should be rutting hard up that way from reports I heard. I killed a 6pt on some public ground in the central zone Saturday. He was starting to get rutted up. Also saw a small buck dogging a doe on the way to the processor. Don't be afraid to sit mid day with this full moon.

Re: Lftt 11/25 - 11/25/15 11:15 AM

Got down early bc a bunch of ruckus in the field closest to me. Sounded like trucks and trailers and atvs so I got down and hustled out to see what was going on. Apparently 200 out of 1200 acres of our land is getting burned today, unbeknownst to anyone in our club. We knew they had a dozer to push out fire breaks but weren't informed of the burning until I found out from these guys.

Hell yea tell them which three sides to light and go sit on the other.

Re: Lftt 11/25 - 11/25/15 11:48 AM

That's what I was thinking too, except with the wind direction, they have to burn from the SE to the NW. There's no woods left that way since it's the entire northern portion of the land. Still going to head to our old clear cut that's about too high to see in anymore and see how it goes I guess.

Reads like that could have been a major liability on their part.

Saw a small 7 point at 2:30 here in GA. Put a cam on a small scrape Sunday and have 5 different bucks working it. One's a decent 9, but I have my sights on the big 6 year old 10 that I have on camera.

That's a great photo sdw!! thumbup

Hunting this afternoon. It is hot, and the ladybugs are almost too much to be in the stand. I took it for a while, and couldn't stand it. Closed a few windows to limit movement, found a used Gatorade bottle, and started mashing their tiny orange rears with the top.

I stopped at 984 (true count), and it's much better now. grin
