crenshaw county rut - 08/28/15 01:09 AM

I hunted crenshaw county for years when i was kid and just getting into hunting. I stopped hunting it for awhile and i finally made it back. Theres just something about this part of Alabama that i like. For those of you that hunt crenshaw around the patsaliga creek what week do you see the most buck activity? If you only had a week to hunt what would it be?

Rut typically occurs Jan 20 to Feb 10 on the northern Crenshaw County based on our experience hunting the same property since 1998. I seem to recall seeing a report citing Bill Gray's research that shows Feb 4th as average date of conception in that area. That matches our observations.

Down around Highland Home we saw a very intense rut starting starting in Feb. Just like WB, said.

Bill, I will be at my farm Labor Day weekend. PM me if you would like to come fish or just kick the tires and talk deer management.

Man, I'd love to but I think I'm gong to be in Georgia. If something changes I'll definitely let you know.
