How much is to much $$$$

How much is to much $$$$ - 03/23/11 01:35 AM

How much is to much to pay to join a club or lease land for deer hunting, and with this economy are clubs finding it harder to find members.
With the price of leasing land going up almost each year do you think the time will come when the average person will not be able to afford to hunt private land there only choice being public land or quit.

There's a lot of other stuff I can't "quit" before I have to quit hunting.
I'll stop hunting when I stop breathing.

just like everyhting else... supply and demand my friend. as long as theres somebody out there that'll pay it they'll keep going up.

at a point though it becomes more practical to own a place and "rent" it to the club rather that be a member. let the members pay the principle for you. as with most things though gotta have money to make money these days.

to answer your question though, my personal limit right now is about 1600.00 Im sure if I could aford it financially it'd be higher, driven solely by my love for the game.

IMO only you can determine what is too much. Hunting is my only hobby and I spend what I comfortable spending to some it may be too much for others it maybe pocket change. My hunting expenses have never caused my family to go without. So IMO its not to much

I'll never quit... Paying my dues at the club is a priority for me... To me it sames a lot of folks pay their dues and never show up... Glad they pay, but a packed club is a Deer Moving Club... The more folks there the better deer movement smile...

See you in the woods...

I believe the exact opposite is true.

As long as you don't spend more on your cable TV service........

I agree. I've hunted both land with lots of guys hunting and land with hardly anyone out there, IMHO, the more the better.

I will not pay more then $500 for a club. I just cannot justify it with my family needs and the salary I have. Right now I am in a club that charges $425 for access to 3000 acrtes, with about 25 other members. Only half of them actually hunt.

Heck I do not know of one club in Mobile county where the dues are below $500. Doing the math on your lease shows yall have a great deal. I would not be advertising it too much though. smile

I've been in two clubs for years. I'm only joining the Blount County club next year and dropping out of my Perry County club. My wife is in nursing school so I'll hunt close to home untill she finishes school. I got to do what I got to do! cry

If Aldeer was 40 yrs. old you could have read this same original post back then. As long as there's enough folks with enough money it will continue to go up. The landowners want to get the most money they can from their investment just like anyone else.
