Have a Browning in 25 wssm. Ammo is expensive since they never really caught on.other than buying expensive ammo any thought or advice in turning it into a custom gun?

My brother has one. He's down to his last box of ammo. He just ordered him a 6.5 creedmoor AR10. That 25wssm is a great shooting round but all he could get was the ballistic tips and it just tore them up when they go to pieces inside the deer. I hate cleaning a deer he shot.

If I'm not mistaken you could rebarrel into 300wsm, 325wsm, or my personal favorite of available options .350RemMag. The SAUM calibers would work also.

Look into what calibers you might be able to have it bored to. it's costs a little over $300 to have one bored. I don't know a thing about the caliber. I assume standard short action and don't know what the bolt face is or mag box restrictions. Don't know if it has a bolt stop worked for shorter than short action,or ejection port length. All must be considered. http://www.35caliber.com/3.htmlCould likely tell you all you need to know. I would also just reload if you can find brass or if you already have plenty.

Reload and problem solved.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Isn't brass pretty hard to find? I guess you could always make some. Hard to find but not impossible. Usually pricey when you do find it. Making the brass from other WSM brass would be a major chore since the cases are shorter. Finding dies for the WSSM cartidges is not easy either.

I have a cousin that owns a 243 WSSM. He said he cannot find any ammo for it, and its been that way for a while. Although it appears they have a small ballistic advantage, I think the WSSM calibers were more of a marketing gimmick than anything. A way to produce something new that everyone just has to go out and buy. Kinda the same way the 6.5 CM is today. Hopefully though, the CM will stick around, or there will be a bunch of folks out of luck twenty years from now finding ammo.

You will have to have a new bolt face if you get away from the .532" case head, what you have is a clustaphuck!

The WSSM's were the answer to a question nobody was asking.

$250 and it can be yours. Lol Quote. Measure the action length. I'm curious how long it is and what the action could be converted to.
