If my truck is ready, I'm heading to the club sitting in a bottom of white oaks surrounded by clearcuts. If truck is not ready I'll hunt across the road on a greenfield.
Where y'all going?

I have a lock on set up about 40 yards north off the head of a draw on a flat with white oaks. They weren’t dropping much last weekend, but I’m hoping these storms got them going. If not, it’s a key travel route. Several come up that draw in the morning off the bean fields in the bottoms. Only one of 2 ways for them to go but with a south wind I’m banking on them coming my direction. I have a good crab claw 10 on camera as a regular through there.

I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. Theres a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts. Ronald Reagan

A hot trail in a SMZ between a cutover and some pines. I hope that evil doe, Hillary, that dealt me misery last season comes through.

In some oaks. I hope they're dropping!

In a hardwood bottom between a 5 year old clear cut and a corn field.

Bench on a STEEP slope that forms the edge of a clear cut and the weirdness that is a swamp way up on top of a very high ridge. On the south end is a briar thicket from swamp bottom to clear cut top, on the north end is open woods with dropping acorns from swamp bottom to clear cut top. The clear cut is in sight of a road so they drop down on the bench to move back and forth.

I'm hunting pigs mainly but there is always deer sign in the area.

One of two places, hardwood ridge full of white oaks between pines and 20 year old clearcut or a draw leading up from river bottom to bedding areas.

Climber off a trail that runs through the middle of a 50 yard wide finger of woods that splits 2 soybean fields. Red & water oaks near my stand. Deer are bedding across the property line to my right about 100-200 yards away and move through anytime from 7-10 am and from 4-7 pm mostly. I'm only hunting the AM so hoping to catch one of the bucks I'm after or a mature doe slipping through.

I haven't had a chance to scout any at the new lease other than the guys showing me around, so I'll hope for the best and pick a random spot.

Still trying to decide between two spots. I don't like east winds.. Seems we had alot of east wind mornings last season.

I have a stand hung in a creek bed on a ridge, the only opening in the thick stuff. There’s a few white oaks dropping and a good trail coming through there.

Eli will be in a ladder stand with a steep hill to his left and acorns all in front of him and I will be up a tree about 40 yards away with a field to my back. If something walks through one of us should get a shot off.

One of two spots....

First spot is a hardwood SMZ with willow oaks that are dropping with a thick, grown up clear cut to my west and thinned pines to the east.

OR

A big oak flat with a bunch of whiteoaks that have just started to drop a little and a 10 year old replanted pine thicket to my north.

In my trusty ladder stand by the creek on their travel route. Killed 5 out of it last year. The trail is worn even deeper this year.
