I shot a pretty good buck the 2nd day of bow season. I felt the shot was good but after 2 days of looking, we never found him. I just got back from Colorado and havent been in the area where I shot him since we tried to find him. I checked my camera today and found he is still alive, notice the hole, the other side was high right below spine.

At least he made it. Hopefully you will get another shot at him.

Deer had to be quartering to miss all the vitals like that.

Remarkably tough animals. If you don't get both lungs or the heart with a arrow, it's amazing how many recover from the wound.

Amazing that didn't kill him, hopefully you will get another chance at him.

Right below the spine is the main artery that supplies blood to everything. Amazing that deer made it this long. He should have been dead in 15 seconds.

What broadhead were you using?

Yes, nothing hit, barely missed upper part of lungs, i still havent figured it out myself.
