Also have tried Indian Creek Deer Processor in Edwin, AL and Wiregrass Meat Processor in Headland, neither does hogs. Have heard that Southern Sausage Outlet does but phone number I have does not work.

Anyone else in the Ozark, Abbeville, Echo area that you folks know?
Thanks.

Alabama has a state law disallowing hogs to be processed at such facilities. A local unnamed company in the wiregrass a couple of years ago was shut down or fined for processing hogs.

I stand corrected on the Alabama hunting laws. I'll never listen to that "THEY FAMILY LAW".

My understanding they can not process them in the same place as deer. But once no deer are being processed, after season there are several processors who do take hogs

Only “law” I found was that a (true) meat market could not process wild hogs and if they handled deer it had to be in a separate area. Baker Hill Deer Processor will do them but I was looking for some place closer. Couple of other places; Indian Creek Deer, and Southern Sausage outlet said hogs were to much trouble as they did not get many and they had to be processed separate i.e. before or after any deer they did then equipment cleaned.

I heard HOPCO isn't doing deer this year. Maybe never? That's in Headland.

Jimmy's between Dothan and Ozark is pretty good.

Used to be Gulledge's in Headland that made some real good sausage. I don't know if he's still there.

There was also a place around Daleville I believe called "B&B". Never got a deer taken there but heard good things and had some killer smoked jerky type sticks a few years ago that came from there.

HOPCO is now doing beef only. Jimmy's is good but costly and does not process hogs. Also Gulledge's is only doing deer. Thanks for any/all feedback. Will keep checking here to see if anyone has an update and location.
