Looking to TRADE for another Tikka in 7mm08.
Gun has beautiful wood stock and has only had 8 rds shot from it. Does have a few handling and safe marks but still in nice condition.

Wish I knew how to post pics from my phone. This is a beautiful rifle. I just took this rifle to the range and did find a few loads that shot less than an inch. Still looking to swap for a Tikka in a short action. 243,260,7mm08,308.

I'm a huge Tikka fan and my primary deer rifle is a T3 270.
However I don't understand all the hype associated with short action Tikka's. Technically they aren't even short actions. They use a spacer in the magazine and different bolt stops for the shorter cartridges. This basically negates all the advantages of a short action (stiffer action, shorter overall length, etc.)
If you are going to shoot a long action rifle then why not choose a long action caliber to go with it and gain a little better ballistics?

Basically I'm tired of being abused at the bench. I have been shooting a 30.06 since I started hunting. I bought my wife a 243win and have been spoiled by it.

I understand completely- an old savage model 110 with a wood stock (and no recoil pad) hurt more than any rifle I've ever shot.
