4 years in and I've yet to hear drumming. I've seen several Toms now but have yet to hear one drum. Wondering if I can hear that frequency.
I'm convinced I can't....I've had gobblers strutting close several times but I've never heard it. I've also had people send me videos of turkeys claiming that you could clearly hear them drumming.....but for me, *nothing* I can hear the spit (in the videos) but nothing else For some reason I can hear it really well and at a good distance… I get more tore down when I hear drumming than gobbling.. Same for me and I can hear gobbling very easily and at a distance.

I chased a bird gobbling it's head off for 4 straight hours. Finally gave up on that bird and got on another one at the four wheeler. I was shooting the breeze with another guy from the club and one fired off below us. He called the bird up and he came my direction. I rolled him at about 35 yards. #3 on the ground for me.

Actually probably from being on the limb roosted. This, rests his breast on the limb while roosting. If he’s breeding enough to have a callus, whew! 😅

If u can hear it u can feel it as well. It’s close to hearing a plane way off or car shifting kind of rumble accept it in short spurts is best I can describe it. U will hear this sound become more distinct the closer they get.

Now that you've documented on social media your willingness to lie in order to stop a corporation from legally making money, the best thing to do is drop it unless you want them owning the land and more.

I can hear the spit as well but have to be within 15 yds to hear the drum. I’ve tested this with a pen turkey find someone with some pets and spend a little time in the yard around it and u will hear and feel it

The spit precedes the drum. If you can hear the spit but no drumming then you likely can’t detect that frequency. My hearing is just bad lol

25 years ago there were significantly more turkeys in my area. That’s not just me saying that but anyone that hunted them back then and still to this day. This also includes southern TN just north of here. Lauderdale population in the line hasn’t lost near the birds we have but they’re down too compared to 25 years ago.
Heck I can ever some areas I’m mentioning just 10 years ago had more birds than now. To be honest it appears Weber turns the corner and is increasing slowly. I will say I’ve seen more poults the last 3 years than the proper 5 or so.
Once again this is talking with guys that have hinted these same areas that I have. In Colbert some guys I know are finally killing birds in places that didn’t have birds 15 years ago. Those areas are increasing rapidly.
Maybe predator base is not there yet especially if those predators are primarily reliant on turkeys/poults/eggs.
🤷♂️
