I have a 23 Mahindra 45 / 50 and I'm looking to put a 3rd Function on it for a grapple. Local dealer quoted 1800 installed. Does this seem excessive or is it in line ?
IF the kits come with quality hydraulic lines, then that’s worth it. If not, and the dealer is building/installing lines and will warranty their work, they might be a better option. Just thoughts after those considerations and playing hydraulic games on occasion. $$$$$$
Jwalker, I don’t think that price is for both. The 3rd function alone is a grand or so plus the install labor. Than the grapple. You’re looking at $3k or more for it all.
And theres not much to it. Ive worked on mine a couple times. If youre mechanically inclined at all you can hook it up. No way i would pay $1000 for a tractor place to do it

I just had some hoses made up, ran them from my rear remotes to the front. Plumbed the ends up and made a bracket. Just use my rear remote for the front grapple. $200 or a few years ago.

Just in plug em from the rear when not in use.
Thats pretty smart. Only difference is a lever instead of a button.
I am installed a 3rd function kit on my mahindra 1533. Took 45 mins w basic hand tools. It’s pretty straightforward.
But it cost $1000 for the tractor place to do it? Makes me want to do all the business i can with the tractor place.
I had about $1,700 total in the kit and the grapple I bought up in brownsboro. dealers I had quote it were 2-2,500 for the kit and install, no grapple.

We have a Kubota M108 with factory 3rd function on it and a mahindra 5500 that I made the hoses for off the rear remotes. The mahindra seems to have more pressure off the rear remotes than the Kubota does off the factory 3rd function up front. We use the same grapple and hole auger on both of em.
