So, I regard this as all y’all’s fault. Shaw, for bringing up more lever actions. Nitroexpress for all your fancy bullet casting pics. Roadkill for your awesome range day posts. James, BPI and BCLC, this is probably somehow your fault too.

Been looking for a Henry 45-70, side gate, color case hardened octagon barrel for a while. Messed around and went to Simmons and lunch and on a lark asked if they ever had them come through. He reached back and said here you go. Sometimes the dog catches the 18 wheeler and has to figure out what he’s going to do!

I’m going to mount Skinner black/brass aperture sights on this at some point. But for the moment, I’ll just play with it.

Hahaha. Yeah that’s an old dog my son and I ran across a year or so ago while deer hunting. He didn’t like the 7mm08 too much

Man, that is my goal for sure. I’m going to have be real careful toting this one in the woods. But yes, I want to cast my own 420gr boolits and ultimately send one through a rack buck’s shoulders here soon.

BTW if you can find them on Gunbroker they seem to be finalizing at approx $1400. So when I saw 999 I just made it happen. They hadn’t had them in stock for a long long time.
