Leupold VX freedom 4-12x40 - 03/21/22 05:28 PM
Looking at possibly buying this scope for a .243 rifle. Used only for deer hunting and doubtful any shots over 200 yds. 75-150 more likely. I’m sure it will get the job done but is there better options for 300-400$ scopes. Like duplex reticle don’t need a bunch of stuff to look at. Any opinions welcome. Thanks

Only way it could be better is if it had a fire dot reticle, I find they really help with kids

Exactly. I’ve got one on another rifle and it’s nice.

I have a Nikon monarch 4-16 and do not like it in the woods. It's great on a green field or power line.
I have a Vx Freedom 3-9x50 and much prefer it if I'm going to be in the woods. Just an FYI.

I have the 4-12x50 and really like it. Clear and does good in low light
