Ruger 10/22 - 11/18/20 12:12 PM

I sighted my deer rifle in yesterday & when finished I thought I would run a few rounds through my wifes 10/22. I swear that rifle had a #10 trigger. I would pull shots trying to squeeze a shot off. Are there any home brew ideas here to lighten that trigger?

Ruger BX-25 trigger is the best upgrade for the money.

I think I'm gonna take the trigger assembly to work with me & maybe take a little material off the hammer & sear then polish it up good. Youtube is my friend...or maybe my enemy. If I screw it up then I will buy an aftermarket.

Timney makes a great trigger unit for the 10/22 that includes the extended bolt release.

Be careful, it's more about the engagement angle than the amount of material on the hammer.
It's really easy to make a 10/22 go full auto until it's empty

And the rate of fire is amazing. It'll be empty in about 0.003 seconds. 😏

Well I did it, didn't go as ar as I thought I needed to but I'm glad I stopped. It went from around a gritty 7# to in the neighborhood of a more crisp 3 or 4. I havent shot it yet but the safety still works so I will try it next week when I get time.
