Piece of chit Glock - 07/18/19 04:21 PM

Momma always said I was special. Turns out I’m special enough to break a Glock. G20sf snapped off the ejector (#8196-2) this morning after firing only 3 rounds. rofl Never had a 1911 do that before. gun Good news is since it’s a Tupperware made child’s toy, the replacement part is only $7.

It would be cheaper to replace the ejector housing than ship it back to Glock ...

Not to mention easier

It would cost me more in shipping than the factory replacement part I already ordered. If there are still issues after the parts swap then I’ll let Glock work their magic. I honestly believe that ejector was out of spec. I’ve compared it to a G20, G21SF, G40, G41 and all their ejectors are flush with the rear polymer housing and this one is slightly elevated. Could have been a problem with the housing or the metal ejector but the new part replaces both so hopefully, fingers crossed, it should be taken care of.

Agreed. I’ve used Underwood in every 10mm Glock I’ve ever owned and never had a problem. I don’t believe this was ammo related. I emptied the rest of the box thru a G40 with zero malfunctions.

Wonder if the 10mm guns/parts are heavier made than the ones in a 9mm?

This aint the first Glock I've seen fail and this is minor compared to some . Don't get me wrong I like Glocks well enough but it is a semiauto and they have more of a tendency to fail

I think most of the ones I'd read about were earlier .40 and .357 models. Aren't they the ones that had a more unsupported chamber coming up from the feed ramp? Seems like I read they changed it slightly to give more chamber support to prevent it. Maybe not?

I have a G32 357sig that I've put maybe 600 rounds through without an issue.

I haven't counted how many I've put through my 23 (.40) but I'd guess it's in the 2-3000 range and I've never had a problem either. a quick google search indicates that a large portion of failures was either related to earlier models with the unsupported chamber, or people shooting super-hot hand loads. Certainly not ALL cases, but a large number of them.

Here's an example of the chamber support deal....finding a specific date of when this change was made is difficult, based on a quick google search. I bought my 23 in 2006 I think. I honestly don't know if my barrel is the older version or newer.

I don't know what year mine is either. It is a gen 4 that I bought new 2 or 3 years ago.

It's the newer one with more chamber support. They started redesigning them sometime in the early/mid-2000's
