Bushnell Trophy XLT

Bushnell Trophy XLT - 06/21/17 02:22 AM

Anyone have one or ever used this particular scope? Is it decent for its 120$ price or should I just go ahead with the Nikon prostaff for 169$ ? Pro and cons? I'm on a tight budget but I spent money on really nice DNZ rings that I like on my wife's rifle. Appreciate any input. Getting a scope in a 3-9x40

It's not bad, but I would look for a used Elite 4200 or Elite 3200.

The plain Elites that were out for awhile are the same as the 4200s. Great scopes for the money, and can be had in the price range mentioned.

To the OP,just save a little more and get a quality scope. You still have plenty of time before the season. You can find a used 3200 Bushnell 3X9 for $125-$150.

On the Bushnell Elites,be cautious what you are buying. The older 3200 and 4200 scopes were made in Japan and were quality scopes. If I'm not mistaken the plain Elites were made in Japan for a short while but are not now. I may be thinking of something different but I recently looked at some Bushnell scopes that I think were Elites. Whatever they were I know for sure that they were once made in Japan and were better than the ones I looked at that were no longer made in Japan.

All Elites are made in Japan unless something changed.

All I'm saying is double check that. I'm 90% sure I recently looked at some that were not.

Just looked and found this before I finished the post.

I have both the XLT and the Prostaff. The XLT has horrible eye relief so I definitely wouldn't use one on a rifle with any kind of recoil. The Prostaff sits on a 270 and Ive killed plenty of deer and hogs with it. My only complaint about the prostaff is low light quality isn't great.

I'm putting it on a 7mm-08 so the recoil shouldn't be bad at all

I have the XLT on an AR right now and I literally have to shoot with the stock collapsed
to be right up in the scope the eye relief is so bad. Id choose the Nikon over the XLT. But like others have said Id save up a little more for something with a little better glass.

I have one on my 25-06 & 300 encore barrels. Like em.

There's a rebate on the Trophy scopes. It was for scopes bought June 8-22. $40 back.

I put one on my sons 7-08. Pretty good clarity. Not as good as my elite 3200 though
