LFTTW 3/19 - 03/19/23 09:48 AM

Going after Osceola’s this morning in Lake County. Cold front is still pushing through 43° misting rain. Doesn’t seem like a good morning for gobbling but this place is slap covered up with them so still feeling good about our chances.

Colder, 32 degrees, less wind. Maybe they will gobble.

Present with the lil lady(8yr). Morning #2. Yesterday morning had two come running in. Stayed pretty much head to head. She could t get a shot. Little upset to say the least but we back at it. Good luck with the kids.

We hooked up, he gobbled on the roost, never on the ground. Multiple toms. He killed one with a 7” beard.

Buddy and I called in 3 strutters for his boy this morning. Only two made it out alive and we were back at the house by 7:30. Dang fine morning in the woods

Watched one die. He put on a show for an hour strutting and gobbling in a pasture. He eventually broke. The lower half of my body numb, from sitting still so long

One of my best friends son came to my place, hunted turkey for the first time and killed his first by 7:05 AM. He may be spoiled now.Two gobbled on the roost and came straight to him and my buddy guiding him gobbling and strutting along the way.Perfect hunt.

Luckily I have a good flock and what must be the best turkey roosting spot in the county. There is pretty much a roosted gobbler there almost every day. Whether he will play or not is the question. Only drawback is it’s 100-200 yards into my neighbor so we have to get them to come north a little but they do so fairly frequently. There have been 8-10 killed at that exact spot I know of.
