Thought all the birds had left my place. I got home yesterday and bush hogged my greenfield and last night checked my camera and a gobbler was there at 6:45. Made plans to get up this morning at 5:30 and ease to the back hill on my place. Well I got a call at 2:30 from dispatch saying a customer has called in a gas leak. I drive to Opelika and get back home at 4. Reset clock for 5:55 but woke up 10 minutes early. Time I got dressed and out the door he was already gobbling. I rushed up the hill and put my decoy up and climbed into the blind. He gobbled good from the tree and answered my calls. It took him awhile to fly down and he stayed in the pines right below my set up ( probably not 30yds) till finally at 8:09 a lone hen came out with my following. He stayed in strut for nearly the entire time. He was. about 60 yds when he first came out and I shot him at 8:45 at 36 yds. It was a great show. 18.7 lbs, 9 inch beard and 3/4 spurs
