M2 12 gauge tss choke suggestions - 04/08/20 12:37 AM

I just bought a 12 gauge M2, the deal was just too good to pass up. So I’ll be setting up a gun in the next few weeks. What chokes are y’all tss shooters using in yours?

I use a Rhino .660 in my M2 with an 18" barrel, but I'm just using Hevi 13s as I bought a pile when they were on clearance.
I load TSS but haven't had a need for it in this gun.

It does all I need it to with an even pattern just using Hevi 13 #7s and does just as well with #6s.
222 in 10" and 228 in 20"

The Jelllyhead choke did well in it also.

God Bless,

I shoot the factory full out of mine.

I shoot an IC .665 and #8s out of my SBE2. Deadly is an understatement

I also use a Rhino .660 in my M2 with a 24 inch barrel. I shoot the Hevishot Magblends. It’s an absolute killer.

I love my m2 I had been shooting a rhino .660 and nitro 4-5-7 for long time. I switched to tss 7.5x9 and a Indian creek .665. Still think it’s to constricted. I bet a .670 would be a great pattern

We've shot a lot of tss through a lot of guns playing with different constrictions and we've definitely seen the best results with .675 to .685 overall. A good even killing pattern. 20ga has been the same. .575

^This is what I'd try first. My 20 gauge M2 shoots the #7 Federal Heavyweight just about as well through factory full as through Trulock choke made specifically for that load.

I can't imagine a 12 gauge wouldn't do at least that well with full.

I'd at least try that first anyway!

Dang this thing is a smooth shooter. I let the wife and son put the first 2 loads down the pipe through the full choke and they like it over my gold, SBE, and franchi for recoil. Appears the bead shoots true as well with dove loads. Can’t wait to put some tss through it.

Fine shooting guns for sure. I just bought a jebs .660 for mine to shoot the apex small town blend through. I will be happy to post the results when the shells come in, It was a little open for me with the Federal straight 9’s.

I would either get a sumtoy 665 or a rhino 660. Its gone have a hot core with either but will kill them a lot further than anyone should ever shoot a Turkey.

Never shot a sumtoy but I own a gen1 rhino that was built for the Nitro blend and it doesn’t compare to the Jebs and Apex combo!

Good luck with the setup I have a feeling you’re gonna love that gun.

That's cool. Different chokes shoot different in other guns. I had a jebs before that wouldn't pattern as good as a comp n choke.

I've got a buddy running a rhino in his sbe 2 and the patterns he is getting is incredible.

Got a Trulock .650 in my Benelli m2. Has a 21” barrel, and gets around 300 in a 10inch circle at 40 yards with 8-1/2 TSS

My dads m2 with a rhino .660 and apex 9's is incredible. I make him shoot em at 40 and out because anything closer im afraid he will miss because the pattern is too tight.

Its referencing large steel shot. The size TSS we run for turkeys are no problem.

I have been shooting Benellis for almost 20years. You will not be disappointed. I have had good patterns with kicks, jellyhead etc...but right now my main shotgun, a SBE2 crio bbl 12ga is set up with Federal Heavyweight TSS #7-9 with a Jebs .650 Headhunter.

The benellis shoot great and it’s easy to get a good choke/shell combo that will kill.

Factory Full!!! Shot one last week with Nitro 6’s at 30 yards and it was nasty. Have shot TSS at 40 and it was crazy tight.

I shoot a Carlson's .665 running Federal Heavyweight number 7"s. If need be, I can roll him @ 50. What I really like is when he smells a rat and starts walking fast/running at 20, I have a better chance of dusting his tail with all those 7's. Those 7's also really help after everything has greened up good and your shots are much closer than when the season opened up in March.

I found an original SBE 1 for $850. I swore off 12’s but I’m tempted to get it just to mess with

If you don’t get it pass along the info. I have one but would take another. I think I paid about that for my H&K 20 years ago.
