I was surprised when I checked the radar this morning and saw the storms had fizzled. I’m at the listening spot hoping to get on a bird that whooped me the other day.

Present. Very tempting to go back to sleep when I heard the rain rolling through when the alarm went off.

Got one bird gobbling across the line. I’m set up on a clover patch with the intention of deer hunting one unless I get a gobble in an accessible area.
Any gobbles for y’all? They are shut up so far in my parts.
My favorite kinda weather a storm before daylight wish I was hunting. Good luck

Congrats on the kills boys. It's been really quite for us. I am still kicking myself for not bringing my son out for the youth hunt. They were going nuts that weekend. And gotten quieter every day

back at the new spot this morning. Heard 6 or 7 different birds but 5 only gobbled once and the others were in the next county. Long day. Will be headed back to my original place tomorrow and hope the birds are still alive.

Hadn’t been able to post due to poor service. Been after em for 5 days and still haven’t killed one. Been on good gobbling bird’s everyday but one. That one day I didn’t hear a gobble till 10am but my 8 yr old missed one at 6:45. Yes it was dark but the bird pitched out and land 10 feet in front of me. He started strutting and got to 20yrds I was able to turn my son and missed. Oh well we are trying to kill some pigs this afternoon and back after the birds in the am
Congrats killers, me and the oldest boy went this afternoon. Walked in about 1/2 mile called. Nothing. Waited about 30 min then started walking, 300 yrds down the rd bed make a bend and bam there they are, then see ya later. Oh well my boy had fun and he got to see birds so he was happy. Back to the salt mine next 4 days then 10 days off.

Missed a few questions on my test this morning, I got a little aggressive but they were hammering! Ran zig zags until I figured out I had two birds.
