Yesterday, I messed with some birds at our farm. I never could get them to come to me but I knew they were close by one of our Greenfields roosting last night. So I decided to go up to that Greenfield this morning and sit and wait him out. I never heard any gobbling so I just soft called at the edge of the Greenfield for about 15 minutes. I decided to shut up and about five minutes later this one gobblesabout 35 yards straight in front of me on the other side of a cedar tree. He circles around to my left into an opening and gobbles one more time right before I shoot him at 35 steps. It was a great fast hunt, just the way I like them to be.
