20 guage wad splitter - 12/08/18 01:49 AM

Does anyone know an economical solution for splitting 20 guage wads? I am loading a new recipe that calls for purchasing unsplit wads that must be split. Any guidance appreciated.

How important is precision regarding equal petals and how many (3 or 4)?

Man in college when I was chasing hens that would strut, a 20 yr old wad spitter was always the recipe.

I use scissors I bought from Precision Reloading they sell for slitting wads.

You can play around with number of petals but I doubt it will matter with TSS. With Steel shot I can see a little bit of difference in 3 and 4 slits but thru a turkey choke I doubt there is any difference.
