Anyone ever hunted the area southeast of OKC or due South of OKC bout halfway to Texas?
If so, what's the turkey population like?

From what I've seen passing through the area on my way to Western Oklahoma this area is hilly and more wooded than out West. Does it hold good numbers of birds? If so, are they typically on big roost sites or more scattered?

Thanks

we were west of Ardmore about 27 mile and 12 miles south of ringling. ive never seen birds run towards one spot like this did. they would hit the ground and basically run 1.5 miles to a wheat field on another guys land. they were never roosting close to the same place and in the afternoon they wouldn't say a thing.

I hunt South and just a smidge West of Oklahoma City. Waurika Lake Area. The population seems pretty good in that area. We hunt private land there luckily. Originally went to hunt public at Waurika Lake but it was NOT TURKEY FRIENDLY! Lol! The area was very grown up and hogs had about ruined it.
