I hate bow hunting!

So much I gonna try again this afternoon. I have had an off year. Not seeing the deer I usually do. Well this morning I was using as a scouting trip. Just perch up a tree and watch for crossings and such. Well guess what, 15 minutes ago I look to my left and there he is, a sandy high horned 8 at thirty yards feeding in gal berries. Stand up range him and he steps out in fire break at 28 yards. Put pin on him he stops and bammmm. Nick the top of his back. The last three deer I have shot at has done the same thing. I am clearly doing something wrong but went through my whole process. Guess it could just be buck fever.

Aim Low

Make sure you are bending at the waist to make the angle. If you drop your bow arm to make the angle it will cause you to shoot high.

I meant to, now if I did is another thing. Five more just come by. Was about to practice on a doe but heard some more coming. Had to let them go and three dumb ol spikes stepped out. Crap. I need another target

Sounds like I should've been in a tree this morning. Got to leave out about 10 to go to a funeral. My wife's grandfather passed away Wednesday morning.

Yes. Practiced out of ladder stand and I was only about 18 ft at most today so plus or minus 3 ft should have been no problem. Ive shot guns all my life and think I may be pointing n shooting. Not picking a hair and shooting at a small spot. And shaw I should have shot one of the does but didn't. Should have practiced per say.

Concentrate on the pin through the shot. I went through a spell like this a few years ago. When I would start squeezing the release I would shift focus to the target and that makes your pin move high every time.

Keep your chin up. It's just hunting!

Can you sharpen the blades or just get replacements?

I replace mine. Concentrate on where you are shooting and not the antlers.

I resharpen mine.

Aim a little lower. If they hear it release, they will squat a little so they can rocket off. You can't see it with the eye, but watch it on slow motion. Also, concentrate on the point of impact if that makes sense.

Bend at the waist and aim a little low. good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions fellows. I think they are the same things said last year when I missed another 8 at the end of the season. I climbed up on the eve of my house today again to shoot. It's 22 ft high and sort of flat. Shot out to 30, 40, and 50. Well it wasn't the bow, so I prooved what I was pretty sure about. It was me. Must be horns. I am 1/4 on bucks and the three I missed were right on the back. Thanks again and I hope to redeem myself. Maybe it's the rage extremes!

At least you didn't have a NuFletch lighted nock fall out of your arrow and CLANK! on your bow to scare off a nice 8 point. That was my Thursday morning. HaHa!

No more lighted nocks for me!
