Killed a nice deer Thursday too bad his rack was broke. It was 6:22am it was barely light enough to see but I could see him crossing the creek so I drew back. Well he come up the bank so fast that I missed the first opening. He got in the second opening 35yrds and I let that thunderhead fly. It sounded like I hit a tree with a boat paddle. I actually thought I had hit a tree until I heard him drop then I saw him crawl about 4’ behind a tree. He laid there for about 15 min and then moved another 3’ so now I can see him. He tried to get up so I shot him again. He never moved again. It wasn’t until I got down and over to him that I found out that he had made it thru the opening farther than I had thought and stopped. I shot where I was aiming but it was his hind quarter and not the front quarter. This rascal has been beat up. Broke rack and all of the marks on his sides. I know there’s a man out there somewhere and hope I can see him.
