Morning starting off on the right foot. While loading up the truck to make my way to the property I start hearing antlers crashing together behind the house so I sneak around and sure enough two bucks are having a pretty good fight on the other side of my fence. Got some crappy video of it lol it's to dark to see them but you can hear their racks smashing together. After about 10 mins I had to go but I thought that was a pretty good way ro start the morning off.

Goodness gracious, deer moved like a mofo this morning!! Jumped a ton, heard a ton, saw a ton, shot a nannerhead! Okay, so I didn't find her though... too much a quartering-to angle, hit back and came out guts. 99% sure I'll never find her. In fact, I am fairly sure she made it across the boundary into a no-hunting zone (I actually don't know, no blood trail, just following where I "think" she went. I did jump a deer that sounded to be struggling, ran out of hearing.)

Going to do a sit and hunt by a bedding area hopefully I get a good buck or an old doe in my sights. Trying to get in at least 2 hunts before the gun season starts in Saturday
I've got my muzzleloader with me this afternoon. I'm hunting a powerline where I can see much further than I care to shoot! These two young does came out into the dirt plot at 3:10 and fed around for a little over ten minutes:
Two does and a fawn fed through the field on the other side of me and now they're eating browse on up the powerline...I never would've thought I'd see 5 deer before 4:00!

I'm in Moab Utah for some rock crawling for the next few days. Seeing some big Mule Deer right here near town. Wish I had my bow.

I had one of my best hunts of the year! I ended up seeing 8 deer and a bobcat. One deer was a pretty nice buck, but he was too borderline for me to shoot him this early in the year.
