Sight adjustment

I've been try to adjust my sight on my bow. I like where my top pin is set (25 yards). I wanted to shoot the 3rd from top to 40 yards but it is to close to the 2nd pin. Should I move the no. 2 pin up half way between no. 1 and no. 3 and figure out how many yards it's set to and set no. 3 to 40 like I want to? Or something else I should do?
I've been shooting this bow for a couple years now and I've never adjust the sights yet. I've just been using it like it was set up.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

I would set it between them and see what it does. It'll probably be a 33 to 35 yarder.

If it were mine, I would set my top pin at its max point blank range. For instance, my bow will shoot 0-30 yds without holdover. Then I would set my other pins at 10 yds increments from the top pin.
