Tuscaloosa area fishing - 08/29/22 04:27 PM

I am fairly new to the area me and my wife moved here last year from Baldwin county and I am in need of any advice of areas to fish in the Tuscaloosa area. I don’t have a boat or kayak so looking for shore fishing only. I am finally getting some extra time since moving here so looking forward to doing some fishing if I can find any good spots. Any information is much appreciated.

Don't get your hopes up for this area, Welcome to the neighborhood, Don't say what type fish but look up Lake Nichol couple miles out past lake tus dam.

I’d stay away from Lake Tuscaloosa unless you like disappointment
Lake Nichol is your best bet or the Black warrior

I have been to lake nichol once it looked like a nice lake just haven’t made it back to fish yet. Is there a good area to bank fish off of? And also me and my wife go to lake lurleen quite often and hike but haven’t tried the fishing yet, is it any good or too overfished? It would be nice to fish there since it’s about 5 minutes from the house

I love Holt from Nov-Feb. Get behind the lock and catch some big spots.

How’s the fishing at lake lurleen? We used to fish and camp there as kids.
