I wish these companies would quit coming out with all this cool crap!

If I set up a Gofundme page, would you guys chip in a couple bucks apiece? laugh

You and me both....

I did hear someone talking a month or so ago that said there was now technology out there that actually did show different fish by species.

I was surprised it was that low. Not that 15 hunert is cheap, but I expected more. That is just for the transducer though. Those who already have a compatible Garmin unit are ahead of the curve. I'm sure H'bird and Lowrance will come out with something similar. Oh, the agony!

I'm getting to where I can more often than not tell you if the fish im seeing on down imaging are crappie or not. It's pretty cool trolling crankbaits and being able to call your shots

Dangit, that's cool enough I may have to have one on my boat and one on my truck too. Reckon it will tell me whether it's a Deputy, City, or a Trooper up ahead? laugh

This ^^^^
On side imaging I can tell you carp, gar, and bass most of the time. I have one place at lay that stacks up with giant carp all summer I idle it often just to see how many are there.

Yeah, I did notice that didn't include a head unit after I posted that. I figured it would be more too.

Be my luck if H'bird produces something equivalent, it won't work with my Helix 9

I'd just about bet that H'bird will make it a stand alone unit that won't work with any prior model units. That seems to be the way they roll. Garmin could have easily done that but chose to help their customer base to upgrade without spending the big bucks.

Just curious, does anybody need to buy a kidney?

That'd be a cool piece of equipment to have.

I love how the pro anglers and some others believe the A-Rig or double-fluke rig isn't sporting, but a high-def sonar unit that shows fish swimming around like a television screen clear enough that you can watch your worm fall to them is dandy.

I love technology and think this is a cool deal. But that hypocracy is glaring IMO.

I’m kind of envious of a guy i see fishing that has the panoptix on the front of his boat looking forward. He says it makes it 100 times easier to catch bait.
