Guntersville Tournament - Proud of my son

To say Brody is obsessed with fishing would be an understatement. The boy lives and breathes fishing. He's 13 & fishes in the high school TBF/FLW for Sand Rock and this is also his second season as his Dad's partner in the Dekalb BassMasters club. Guntersville has been the worst lake for him. Not only has he had poor finishes every time but the last tournament of the 2016 season he fished it with a broken arm..ended up falling in the lake early that morning & snapped his cast in half. We've had a running joke about his "Gunterville curse."

Thank goodness the curse lifted over the weekend. Brody was on fire & caught a 6lb10oz toad just minutes before weigh-in and they won with 19.1 lbs. He's a laid back boy but the smile I saw on Saturday was priceless. The water was rough - but he just kept hammering. He caught the majority of his fish throwing Tight Line jigs.

Thank y'all for letting me do a little bragging. He's a good boy & sure makes his Mama proud.

If you guys have noticed Brody is a fishing machine. He out fishes any and everybody he is in the boat with. He is on his way to a career as a Pro. He already has a list of sponsors. The only thing holding him back now is age! Git'em Brody !

Wow that's great! I love to see a young man do so well in outdoor sports. Too many these days are glued to their phones/ipads and never learn a thing about the outdoors. Congrats to you, Brody, your whole family ... I'm sure you're proud of him

This was the Dekalb tournament - they're a really great group of guys & have made Brody feel welcome from day one. He's just "one of the guys" now.
