WTB long range scope

WTB long range scope - 11/25/19 01:57 AM

Looking for higher magnification scope for a .308 I’m going to dedicate to cutover and powerlines. Meopta, vortex viper, etc. prefer 30mm tubes. Seeing if I can find one here before ordering a new one

If you end up with the Vortex Viper I have the Viper HST 4-16×44 on a .308 Remington 5R I use for the same thing and punching paper it is a great scope that tracks well always returns to zero and is noticeably brighter in low light than any other scope I own. you can catch them on sale at Midway pretty regular.

I’d love to have the new meopta but I’m having trouble finding one. The viper line confuses me a bit though, HS, HST, PST. I haven’t done enough research to know what I need.

Check out the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24 X 50 FFP. The glass quality is what you would expect from a $499.99 scope, but I had great performance out of mine. Great "intro to long range" option.

I had the vortez viper 4x16x50 on my 308. I took it off because I didn’t like the crosshairs.

Was thinking about trying something different then a Leupold. What’s the drawback with the Vortex crosshairs?

nothing some people just dont like hashmarks it has horizontal and vertical hashmarks every 2MOA I like them because I actually use them to target shoot out to 500yards and they give you a good hold over without having to turn the knobs they are perfect for shooting deer out to 300 with a 100yard zero as the first and second has mark will keep you inside of killzone out to 300 yards. they also offer several different crosshairs the ones below are on my target rifle then they have one that only has 3 BDC hash marks that work out to 200-300-400 yards roughly i use on my hunting rifle. the V-plex is going to be your standard old fashioned crosshair

Bought 2 and love the one I’m using but haven’t had the time to set the other rig up and don’t see it happening any time soon
