Saw what looked like a smaller six point pushing a doe around on my way to work. It’s a couple weeks earlier than usual but things may get going here before long.

Last sit of Blackwater SOA. Sitting a road, about all you can do here. Bumped one walking in.

I’m back at it. Probably not gonna pull the trigger on anything but the weather was worth the sit

Me and baby brother out for a good buck. Killed his first in November. Thinking they will lay up till the sun comes out

Black yote down

Just got in from work. So foggy over this way couldn't kill one unless it walked under you. May go this evening and set a spell

Never seen or killed a black yote what should I do with it fellas?

I would leave it where it is. But I would take a picture of it before I walked away.

When you should have held onto that gun for another 30 seconds before lowering.

I had buddy who caught a black yote last year - it looked awesome and it was huge - he stuffed it

Thought about full mount or a rug or something

I would at least do a rug/skin it out

I can just freeze it once I get home can’t I?

Do what you want but be sure not to touch it with your hunting gloves or clothes, as that smell is nearly impossible to get out. Congrats on the black yote though.

That deer and the two others with it didn’t have a care in the world.
I packed my stuff, lowered my shotgun, then dropped the rope. Turn around and the deer came from the brush behind me. I just stood there staring at them for 15min while they just sat, ate, and occasionally looked up at me til they finally meandered off.

Decided to try something new today and I must say, I like it.

I bought a Millennium blind chair for my Kansas trip this week. Very light, easy to carry and comfortable. It ain't cheap though...

Killed a nice 8 point this afternoon about 4:50pm on a greenfield. Totally caught me off guard I thought it was a nanny with her baby. Once I got my gun up I realized he was a shooter, and my marlin .308 didn’t allow him to take another step.. unfortunately he slipped off my four wheeler and broke his brow tines..

Dang it man that sounds like my luck. At least you got a good deer.

Retrieve the broke pieces? That can be fixed with epoxy and stain

brow tines are easy fix..

Someone said if I couldn’t find the broken ones that I could use bondo and wood stain
