The regular brown/red mineral blocks from tractor supply work, as does their granulated mix.

I used 40# pool salt bags this year on our established licks and they are digging a hole to the center of the earth in them right now.

If you shop Tractor Supply look at the Record Rack Block. For blocks, it is tops.

If you want a true mineral site, 30-06 Mineral and Vitamins from Whitetail Institute is the VERY BEST. It is a powder and you dig out a small area and pore this out out the ground. It is a great mineral + vitamin . Our club has used it for years. Expensive but the best. Record Rack Block is second but great

2 parts red trace mineral and 1 part di-cal phosphate. Pour in 1/2 bag di-cal to a bag of trace mineral . That's all you need.

I used this formula and it was around 70 dollars for 200lbs.

All depends on what you are trying to do.
If you want to attract them, then the above mix may work, but if you want to help does with milk and bucks grow racks and deer as a whole build up their body then use Record Rack or 30-06. Read the ingredients on the packages. These two promote healthy deer. Salt does not, but they love it.

I hunt in Coosa County next to you and have been using 30-06 at our 23 mineral sites for years

If you live in South Carolina ask around and see if you can find “Lowcountry Deer Mineral” I know some guys that use it and they say it’s good stuff.

I personally use the 2 part red trace mineral salt 1 part di cal phosphate.

I get the cattle mineral with the 4% phosphorus I think. It’s $16.99/50lb and it’s the exact same makeup as lucky buck

I always make my own and they really like it. I use 2 parts trace mineral, 1 part di-calcium phosphate and 2 parts powered molases. I just use a small pot as a way to measure.
