In the swamp hoping they'll move as the cold front approaches.

For some reason I decided to go this morning. First time I’ve deer hunted in the morning in a few years, and I remember why.

In a tripod watching a road in between a cutover and pines this morning

Sitting on a big powerline. Warm and rainy.

Present. Watching a doe fill up on turnip greens and clover.

Just a spike so far for me.

Got in late. Hoping they move in this light rain.

Few does is all so far

Seen nothing so far but hopefully they get up and move since the front is moving in tonight

Basket rack and a spike was all for me this morning

Catching and weaning calves this morning ; good luck to all the deer hunters ! Just hoping it’s not one of those days messing with cattle that I have to ask forgiveness for later . If you have cattle you know what I mean ! 😜🤠

Been in the shooting house for about 30min. Watching a food plot separating a 4 year old cutover and some hardwoods. Wind is still going pretty good. We will see what happens.

Wind just now picking up pretty good. Watching a food plot which is my least favorite way to hunt.

Had 4 does feed out in front of me for the better part of an hour. Hoping the buck I’ve got on camera slips up this evening

Had this little bandit come out early about 15 min ago. I've gotta do some trapping when deer season goes out.

Didn't see anything but coons. Had 4 more come through at last light.

Had a buck come out just before dark but I don’t think he was club legal

Had 2 does and 2 babies about try to climb in the ladder stand with me. About 15 min later here comes a coyote right down the trail they had came. Derr left....coyote didnt...

Was out on wheeler with my bow, didn't see a dang thing.

Busy afternoon. Easily over 40 out feeding by 4:45. Saw plenty of 3 yr olds and younger. Just not the ones we want to kill. Rut is in cusp of breaking loose. I’d say Dec 1 it’s gonna be prime time.

I legitimately cannot imagine that. I think I see MAYBE 20-30 deer a season.

Lol ya I've been hunting pretty hard and have yet to lay eyes on on in woods so far

Hell I had 12 standing within 30 yds of my truck when I walked out. Deer were everywhere today

I use to hunt high density areas in Marengo county similar to that - but could never imagine a Dec 1st rut in Bama

They moved good this evening just no shooters

I hunted the same stand with my wife this afternoon and I let her shoot at a goodun. Right after she shot I grabbed my gun out of the corner and told her I was going to shoot the next biggest deer. I shot and mine fell and we saw hers run off looked like unscaved with no possibility of another shot. She doesn’t usually miss so I’m gonna go back tomorrow morning and look some more but I believe it was a clean miss. Here’s the leftovers I had to shoot.

Never hunted LA but lived there few years - did not know that about their rut

Arky rut use to come in around Nov 5-10 ish - growing up in Marengo county - hearing of a Bama rut Dec 1 just hard to wrap mind around
