A lot of Pecans on my trees

which usually means a lot of acorns in the woods. This usually means slow going in food plots as the deer have plenty to eat in the woods. It means fewer deer sightings than usual too which brings out the stop shooting does and we're killing too many people.

If you really want to kill a deer the best bet is to find some acorns fairly close to a bedding area. Remember the deer will not have to travel far to eat. Even like us humans, they like a little greenery in their diet from time to time so don't abandon the green fields altogether though. If you know going in there will be fewer sightings than normal, then there is no need to panic when you don't see as many as you are accustomed to seeing. Like always though, for us here in the Blackbelt, it will get crazy in January, so save those vacation days until then if you have them.

The Great Swami has spoken, so it will be.

I been bushogging this morning. All the oak trees are loaded and some of the biggest acorns I've ever seen on a water oak.

I've been watching the pecan trees, hickory, chokecherry, muscadine and persimmons on my neighborhood walks. All of them are loaded to the gills.

Ive cut/trimmed several pecan trees lately. Some have alot of pecans, some have none. All within a few miles of eachother. I dont know if a pecan tree being loaded or not has much to do with whats going on in the woods. I have noticed a pretty good crop of acorns overall.

Going to be a big pecan and acorn year in Henry county, limbs are breaking everywhere, and white oaks and live oaks are loaded.

My Sawtooths are loaded. Had a great pecan crop last year. They are not looking even fair for this year.

I noticed the pecans too. Bad thing is that down here that often means a hurricane is heading this way.

I am seeing a lot of packed oaks also.
Maybe it was the rainy summer?
Or just the cycle?
