Looking to hunt and camp next year in Conecuh with my son. Is there any tips or advice from y’all you would mind sharing. Also are the rules different between the WMA and the forest?

You have 2 WMAs in Conecuh NF now. Blue Springs and Boggy Holler. Both have their own rules. Order you a new map from the national forest website. It is state season on the rest of the forest. Join the conecuh national forest hunting facebook page. I always loved camping at open pond recreation area and bow hunting blue springs. Some fine deer there. It is amazing what kind of groceries a long leaf pine ecosystem can provide for wildlife. Best of luck to you.

Thank you so much. Can you order the map online? And Will the map have the dates and rules for hunting there? I have been searching all day to find the hunt rules and regulations for the National Forest.

Basically the national forests are the same as private land when it comes to to bow hunting (either sex) and bucks with a gun. About the last two weeks of December it’s either sex with a gun. I haven’t looked into that NF, but should be about the same as stated above. WMAs have their own set of rules (permit can be downloaded and printed).

I just got on their website. Looks like they have totally gotten rid of purchasing the detailed map online. You'll probably have to go to the district office in Andalusia to get one. Don't go by that free recreation map.
