Knocked down a nice one, backed out - 11/21/18 01:59 AM
I shot a nice one right at dark this afternoon, around 150 yards with a 308 shooting Barnes 110 grain TTSX handloads. Deer ran about 75 yards into uncut bean field and went down. I stayed on where he went down for a few minutes just in case he got up. I decided to go try to find him while I had just a little light, I was worried about finding him in the dark with no point of reference in the bean field. When I started walking through the beans he got up and was stumbling/running off, I got off another shot when he stopped again but don't think it connected. He left the field and I backed out, I am hoping he is laying just off the field edge, we don't have much property to work with in the direction he ran. I will be back looking for him at first light, wish me luck. I believe this is the deer I shot.
